Submission declined on 24 July 2025 by Pythoncoder (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. Your draft shows signs of having been generated by a large language model, such as ChatGPT. Their outputs usually have multiple issues that prevent them from meeting our guidelines on writing articles. These include: Declined by Pythoncoder 30 days ago.

Tunnel is an American indie rock project based in Los Angeles, fronted by classically trained violinist and songwriter Natasha Janfaza. Incorporating shoegaze, grunge, and post-punk influences, the project has drawn comparisons to My Bloody Valentine, Liz Phair, and Knifeplay.
Tunnel gained recognition for its 2025 release, Ampersand EP, which features contributions from Joe Lally and Brendan Canty of Fugazi, and production by Owen Wuerker of Flasher. The project made its official showcase debut at South by Southwest (SXSW) in March 2025.
History
editEarly work and Vanilla EP (2021–2022)
editTunnel was founded by Natasha Janfaza in 2021 after relocating to Los Angeles. The project began as a solo effort before expanding into a live band format. In 2022, Tunnel released its debut EP, Vanilla, which received coverage from music blogs and airplay on Henry Rollins’ radio show on KCRW.[1][2][3]
Ampersand EP and SXSW debut (2025)
editTunnel released Ampersand EP on February 28, 2025. The EP was produced by Owen Wuerker and includes performances by Brendan Canty on drums and Joe Lally on the title track.[4][5]
To support the release, Tunnel embarked on a short West Coast tour and performed both unofficial and official showcases at South by Southwest in March 2025. Their official showcase took place at Low Down Lounge in Austin, Texas.[6][7]
The EP received critical praise from a range of publications. *That’s Good Enough For Me* highlighted the record's unusual time signatures, harmonic ambiguity, and layered production.[8] *Buzzbands.LA* included Tunnel in its “Greatest Hits This Week” roundup.[9] The EP was also reviewed by *Audiofemme*[10] and *I Dream of Vinyl*.[11]
Style and influences
editTunnel's sound blends shoegaze distortion, melodic grunge, and indie rock with experimental time signatures and layered instrumentation. Janfaza has cited influences ranging from My Bloody Valentine and Liz Phair to Knifeplay.[12]
