Açıklama The opening paragraphs of the Gospel of Matthew in the Sinkang Formosan language. This translation dates from the first half of the 17th century. Original Dutch and Sinckan is from 1661 by Daniel Gravius; English in small type was added in 1888 by Scottish missionary William Campbell. [1] The lefthand-side is Dutch. The orthography on the right is a predecessor of the Xingang Writing (新港文書), a kind of land contract written by plain aborigines of the Sinkang Tribe, Formosa, between later half of 17 century and first half of 19 century. The bottom is the corresponding English.
