Definition
editThe open movement consists of people, communities, and organizations who (1) contribute to shared resources online that are available for everyone to use and reuse, (2) and/or advocate for non-exclusive access and use of information resources, according to the definition of Open Future[1].
Guiding principles
editIn general, we emphasise the value of:
- Open licenses and tools which do not restrict commercial reuse and derivative works.
- The use of tools, products, services and infrastructures based on open and free software.
- Processes of engagement of volunteers which consider issues related to inclusion, diversity, privacy and produce resources made available with the principle of the share-alike.
- No additional restrictions on content under the public ___domain or not covered by copyright; data in CC0.

editFindings from the analysis of articles and categories on Wikipedia
edit- Confusion and inconsistency in the use of the terms free and open.
- In Italian there is an extensive use of the expression digital freedom.
- Confusion and inconsistency with the terms knowledge, content, culture, data (conoscenza, contenuti, cultura, sapere, data)
- Consistent use of terms which are not explained clearly on Wikipedia.
- Emphasis on free-culture movement.
- We use terms and expressions which are not documented or not properly documented on Wikipedia (the same problem with the communication of Wikimedia Foundation).
- There is no consistency of terms not even in the definition of Wikipedia on Wikipedia in different languages. Furthermore we use expressions that have weak articles and often no translation in other languages.
- Wikipedia Book “Really Free Culture” :)
