Open Science refers to scientific research (including e.g. publications, data, and software) that is open, accessible and shareable, that may be collaboratively developed and openly published. Open data, open access, open-source software and open publications are all part of the movement for open science.

  • Provide background information and knowledge about open access, open data and other facets of open science
  • Educate about the scope of open science and its relevance for Wikimedia platforms
  • Provide a platform for Wikimedians and allies interested in jointly advocating for and collaborating on open access and open science
