Rādhe Rādhe

Rādhe Rādhe^{[N 1]} (in hindī राधे राधे) è un'espressione hindī impiegata come saluto nella regione indiana del Braj. Il saluto è associato alla dea indù Rādhā, la consorte di Kṛṣṇa.^[1] La dea è venerata come regina della regione del Braj, comprendente Vrindavan, Barsana, Gokul, Nandgaon, Mathura, Govardhan e Bhandirvan.^[2]^[3]

Il nome di Rādhā dipinto sugli alberi di Vrindavan

Analogamente ad altri saluti comuni come Jaya Śrī Kṛṣṇā, Hare Kṛṣṇa e Rādhe Kṛṣṇā, anche Rādhe Rādhe trova impiego nella comunità vaiṣṇava. Jaya Śrī Rādhe è una variante di Rādhe Rādhe spesso usata nei templi, a significare: «Vittoria alla venerabile Rādhā».^[4]

Nella regione del Braj è comune vedere la frase Rādhe Rādhe sui muri delle case, sui tronchi degli alberi oppure stampata sugli abiti dei sacerdoti e dei devoti.^[5]

Nella cultura di massa

Radhe Radhe è il titolo di un brano eseguito da Amit Gupta per il film bollywoodiano Dream Girl (2019).^[6]
