How many patches?

The article implies there is one patch. The first image shows it between America and Hawaii. However, the diagram here by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration shows three patches: this Eastern Garbage Patch or North Pacific Subtropical High, as well as a Western Garbage Patch much closer to Japan and Taiwan, and a more diffuse patch in the Subtropical Convergence Zone. A similar diagram can be found in the National Museum of Prehistory, Taitung, Taiwan. cagliost (talk) 07:23, 17 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
