Archive URL for Poland

edit

I added archive URL for Poland since their old website no longer works. Thanks LuanCampSouza93 for pointing it out and Edk for working on listing the archives. Muhandes (talk) 12:14, 7 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Sweden certifications and where to find it

edit

I couldn’t find any search database regarding Swedish album and certifications besides the site: https://sverigetopplistan.se/

Here are the examples:

! scope="row" | Sweden (GLF)[1] | Gold | 20,000 |-

Link: http://sys2.grammotex.se/netdata/grp006.mbr/artdata?sart=5918938

! scope="row" | Sweden (GLF)[2] | Gold | 4,000,000 |- FireDragonValo (talk) 18:51, 9 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Link: https://web.archive.org/web/20240429090751/http://sys2.grammotex.se/netdata/grp006.mbr/artdata?sart=6167311

As for Grammotex is concerned, I couldn’t find an id either because I’m not sure if I can ask them. http://sys2.grammotex.se/netdata/grp006.mbr/artdata?sart={{{id}}} FireDragonValo (talk) 17:44, 12 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

@FireDragonValo:   Done Use |source=grammotex and |id=.
This website is already 153 times so I feel comfortable adding it as a source and knowing it can be used. I hope you will take it on you to start with those instances.
Support for {{Certification Table Entry}} is automatic. Muhandes (talk) 08:02, 13 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Italy certification

edit

Looks like |id and Category:Cite certification used for Italy without ID are no longer needed. Abracadabra (Lady Gaga song) links here to the title. The artist's name is not in the URL I think |artist should be kept to help disambiguate certifications with the same name. MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 20:03, 25 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

@MrLinkinPark333   Done I will get the category itself removed once it is depopulated. Muhandes (talk) 20:12, 26 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Multiple "ref" error

edit

This edit seems to have introduced a "multiple 'ref' parameter" error. It only happens in a New Zealand certification; removing the New Zealand certification from an article removes the error (example: Vs. (Pearl Jam album). Hope someone can fix it. Thanks. Davemck (talk) 14:56, 4 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

I second this, and as this template is being added to more articles, they are being listed at Category:Articles using duplicate arguments in template calls. I hope that somebody with template editor or administrator privileges can fix it. (It's an easy fix; if I had template editor privileges I could quickly do it.) Thanks. Reverting edit and pinging Rjjiii. Muhandes (talk) 18:22, 4 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Oof. Sorry about that, and thanks for reverting. I'll go back and add the parameter by hand to each section, starting with Australia. I didn't realize that some regions (like New Zealand) are written in a much more complex way, Rjjiii (talk) 01:41, 5 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Rjjiii: I'm not an expert on this, but wouldn't this contradict the |refname= parameter in {{Certification Cite Ref}} and {{Certification Table Entry}}? Or is this a different thing?
I suppose you are going to add it back to all the other regions. Can you please add it to the doc page, explaining its usage? You also forgot to add it to the list of parameters, so you are now populating Category:Pages using cite certification with unknown parameters (0)/ Muhandes (talk) 06:58, 5 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Muhandes, the |ref= parameter in CS1/CS2 citations only creates an invisible HTML anchor. This is how a shortened footnote link to the full citation created by {{cite certification}} or another {{cite xxx}} template. The |refname= parameter seems to be for named references which are unrelated. After waiting a bit to make sure no other problems pop up, I can copy the documentation from {{cite web}} over to this template's documentation for the parameter. Rjjiii (talk) 09:59, 5 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the clarification Rjjiii. Do you think relaying |ref= from {{Certification Cite Ref}} and {{Certification Table Entry}} to {{cite certification}} may be useful? Muhandes (talk) 15:17, 5 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

I appreciate the feedback, and I'll look through the related templates, but I think the |ref= parameter would only go into this template. It would only be used in articles where where short citations were used for the inline footnotes, typically with a separate list of full citations. Here is how the templates are working together in the article Rhythm of Love (Kylie Minogue album):

Markup Renders as
{{Certification Table Top|caption=Certifications and sales for ''Rhythm of Love''}}
{{Certification Table Entry|region=Australia|type=album|title=Rhythm of Love|artist=Kylie Minogue|award=Platinum|relyear=1990|certyear=1991|certref=<ref>{{harvnb|Australian Recording Industry Association C}}</ref>}}
{{Certification Table Bottom | nosales=true}}

Hopefully the example makes it more clear, Rjjiii (talk) 21:24, 5 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the demonstration Rjjiii. One keeps learning. Muhandes (talk) 07:28, 6 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
