Template Not working

edit

The template seems to be broken, when used live. Please fix the issue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramit.mukherjee.1994 (talkcontribs) 06:54, 20 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Win %

edit

Would it not be possible to add win precenteage or average pts columns which could be calculated automatically. Darryl.matheson (talk) 17:35, 15 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Extention of template

edit

I offer that the template should be extended. I use this extended version:

Overall Home Away
Stage Pc Pl W D L GF GA GD Pt Pl W D L GF GA GD Pt Pl W D L GF GA GD Pt
First half
Second half
Overall

Calculation for 2 points per win

edit

How is it possible that to modify the table, so a won match results in 2 points, not in 3 points? -Lemmy- (talk) 10:46, 26 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Amendment: I'd like to use it for a season when 2 points were awarded for a win, so the point account is "real". -Lemmy- (talk) 17:45, 26 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Support for leagues without draws

edit

Is anyone interested in modifying the template to make the draws parameters optional rather than required? Some leagues, particularly in North America, had seasons where there were no draws and all tied regular season matches were decided in a shootout or other means. As such, they can't use this template. SounderBruce 00:36, 2 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

I am proposing the addition of a simple caption text parameter, as described in MOS:DTAB. This diff in the sandbox is all that we'd need. SounderBruce 06:01, 26 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

To editor SounderBruce: placed examples on the [testcases] page – is that how you want it to appear? P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 12:55, 27 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Paine Ellsworth: Looks great, though I think "title" might also be an appropriate alternate name for the parameter that should be supported. SounderBruce 03:47, 29 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

This edit broke the template formatting for the mobile layout. Word66 (talk) 23:17, 10 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
To editor Word66: I looked at the testcases page in mobile view and was unable to detect anything broken. Could you please be more specific? P.I. Ellsworth , ed. – welcome! – 11:53, 11 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
It happens specifically on a narrow viewport, and happens because the caption splits the table into multiple tbody sections. Word66 (talk) 19:54, 18 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
The Overall, Home, and Away header cells collapse down to be as narrow as possible, and no longer line up with the rest of the table. Sorry, should've led with that. Word66 (talk) 19:57, 18 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Before I undo this edit, I see that it was made more than 2 years ago. So it has to be asked, why hasn't this problem been found and dealt with long before now? P.I. Ellsworth , ed. – welcome! – 02:08, 19 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Pinging editor SounderBruce to make him aware of this. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. – welcome! – 02:11, 19 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Paine Ellsworth: Looks like the caption just needs to be moved up to the line immediately before the Overall/Home/Away header. SounderBruce 04:04, 19 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
To editor SounderBruce: can you [sandbox] that just the way it should be? P.I. Ellsworth , ed. – welcome! – 04:38, 19 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Paine Ellsworth: This edit; it seems to work, judging by the testcases when I forcibly narrow my browser window on the mobile version. SounderBruce 04:43, 19 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
To editor Word66: I made the change from the sandbox and wanted to check with you. Is that better? P.I. Ellsworth , ed. – welcome! – 04:59, 19 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Works beautifully, thanks for the update on that. As to why it wasn't brought up before, to be fair, what other sickos besides me are on their phone looking at pages on Wikipedia that contain this template, and also know where to come talk about it? 😆 Word66 (talk) 20:45, 19 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Happy to help! Paine  04:28, 20 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Description of suggested change: The template could also contain "neutral" parameters, of games just simply can't be classified as home/away fixtures in a league season, which have occurred over recent years in the A-Leagues (such as Unite Round this year, 2020 COVID hub games in Sydney). Of course the neutral parameters can be optional to include in reading mode (they don't have to be required to include like the home and away parameters do), but to help clear things up this change would be useful for league seasons that do have neutral games. Discussion also taken place at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject_Football#Fb rs template: neutral games

Not done: please make your requested changes to the template's sandbox first; see WP:TESTCASES. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 13:12, 21 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
