editThis edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
Please replace the following files:
- Bus-Logo-Nürnberg.png > Bus Nürnberg logo.svg
- Logo R-Bahn VGN.PNG > R-Bahn Nürnberg logo.svg
- Nürnberg S{{{3}}}.png > Nürnberg S{{{3}}}.svg
- Nürnberg T{{{3}}}.png > Nürnberg T{{{3}}}.svg
- Tram Nürnberg Logo.png > Tram Nürnberg logo.svg
- U-Bahn.svg > U-Bahn Nürnberg logo.svg (only in the section Nuremberg)
Also meanwhile their exist the S-Bahn line number 6 and the tram lines 10 and 11.
Greetings -DimiDimi (talk) 15:03, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- @DimiDimi: The images are used as indicators of the transport method being described, not an official sign or logo from the entity responsible for them. Some do not scale well down to the 20px or less sizes required for their intended use – for example, , – and the opportunity might be taken to correct this (for that example, by using a "B" or "T" instead of the undecipherable words "Bus" or "Tram"). Bazza 7 (talk) 15:15, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Bazza 7 I do not intend to correct this, as these are the official symbols and a change would not meet the standards of the VGN. I just noticed that the English Wikipedia still uses raster graphics and wanted to replace them with vector graphics as I had just uploaded them to Commons. If this is indeed a problem for you, then the editing request can be withdrawn. DimiDimi (talk) 17:05, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- @DimiDimi: What is VGN and its standards? It's not a problem for me such that I'd pursue the issue further, but I felt obliged, from a WP:ACCESSIBILITY point of view, to point out an opportunity for improvement in presenting information. A similar improvement took place to improve legibility of Heathrow Express and Eurostar icons ( and ), neither of which are true representations of their respective systems' branding ( and File:HeathrowExpress.svg. Bazza 7 (talk) 19:44, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Bazza 7 The VGN (Verkehrsverbund Großraum Nürnberg) is the operator of this infrastructure, and I took the symbols from the official route network map. As I said, I only wanted to insert the “correct” icons, nothing more. I didn't want to open a can of worms about this, but I seem to have caused it myself. If you would at least replace the logo of the R-Bahn, that would at least be done, because it is exactly the same file as the one included, only with the wrong color. And for the S-Bahn and streetcar lines with wildcard, it would simply be a matter of switching to SVG files. DimiDimi (talk) 20:01, 27 August 2025 (UTC)

- Long list! I'll take responsibility. Mackensen (talk) 17:04, 30 August 2025 (UTC)
- This should be broken up by system, and I'm not sure about these. With GO Transit, for example, the system map uses the letter-based logos and that's what was implemented at Module:Adjacent stations/GO Transit. Mackensen (talk) 17:09, 30 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Mrmw I believe everything is done except Blackpool; I've started a discussion about the appropriate image to use. Mackensen (talk) 02:31, 31 August 2025 (UTC)
Toronto
editGO Transit is implemented twice; one using SVGs and one using PNGs. I'll look into deduplicating and removing the PNGs. Mackensen (talk) 17:21, 30 August 2025 (UTC)
Blackpool
editRaised at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject UK Railways#Blackpool tram icon. Mackensen (talk) 19:24, 30 August 2025 (UTC)

editAnother duplication, similar to GO Transit. Looking at it. Mackensen (talk) 00:33, 31 August 2025 (UTC)

I am asking for these files, which do not exist on Commons or on en-wiki (perhaps due to a misspelling or deletion?)
- File:Ahvaz Metro Logo.PNG (twice)
- File:Kermanshah Metro Logo.png
- File:Nanning Rail Transit.png
- File:Shaoxing Rail Transit Logo No Text.png
- File:Xuzhou Metro 2019.png
- File:RAJA Logo.PNG
- File:MRT Corp brand logo.png
- File:NanChang Metro logo.svg
--Mrmw (talk) 07:01, 31 August 2025 (UTC)
- Most don't exist; two were deleted for being unused and non-free. Mackensen (talk) 13:09, 31 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Mackensen: you will remove them? --Mrmw (talk) 13:58, 31 August 2025 (UTC)
- Oh I see, I didn't understand what you were asking. Looks like they're not actively in use; I'll review each use case and update. Mackensen (talk) 14:02, 31 August 2025 (UTC)
