Template talk:WikiProject Transport in Scotland

December 2006

edit

Is there a way to code this template so that when added to a page, an indexing name can be added? In general most of pages this template have been added to at Talk Pages. I would be nice to add {{WikiProject Transport in Scotland|Index name}} to bring a list that is not just T — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.151.254.218 (talkcontribs)

Actually the way you started, i have seen this on other categories (paticularly Category:London bus routes). Please note that this project is rather new and after so many months i am still getting use to things. Thank you for the start of the category. I will put things alphabetically when i have the time or so will other members etc. Simply south 16:17, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think the issue is that in the Category list Category:WikiProject Transport in Scotland all the lines and stations are appeared under W and not under the relevant letter for the station of railway under question. I think the reason is that the individual pages are picking up the category tag from the template (in a global manner). Stewart 22:53, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking here. Could you clarify, and put the {helpme} back on the page when you have? Thanks. -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 00:37, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks are due to User:Cbrown1023 for the work on this template. The category list now looks much better. Stewart 22:09, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I am still trying to sort out type. Use class for now. Simply south 13:40, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Map image

edit

Does anyone find it strange that this banner uses an image of the United States for banners needed a map? Should it not be a map of Scotland if a country is used? Borgarde (talk) 07:30, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks and well spotted. I've made it the same as the icon used in WP Trains, which is a World Map Icon. Pyrotec (talk) 12:58, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced category and |unref=

edit

Editors maintaining this template may be interested in this discussion on the {{WikiProject Trains}} template. The consensus was to add a |refimprove= parameter to sort articles into Category:Rail transport articles needing additional references. As part of the change to that template, I have created Category:Scotland Transport articles needing additional references so that articles tagged for WP Trains with |Scotland=yes would get sorted into it. Not every article that is in both projects' scopes will have the ___location parameter set in the WP Trains banner call because many articles are tagged with both banners. The easy solution is to add |refimprove= to this template and work on updating calls to this template as needed. Slambo (Speak) 22:59, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
