Luis Eduardo Rincón (born November 5, 1981) is a Colombian artist[1] based in Spain.[2][3] He is known for his drawings and paintings.[4][5]

Early life and education

Rincón was born in Aguachica, a town in Colombia, on November 5, 1981.[2][6][7] During the period known in Colombia as "La Violencia (The Violence)", he and his family moved frequently across the country. At the age of four, he showed an early interest in painting and often drew on various surfaces, including his school notebook.[8]

When he arrived in Bogotá, Rincón began studying under Colombian painter Ómar Gordillo, a recognized artist originally from Neiva. He later continued his training in the studio of Franklin Ramos, a fine arts instructor.[2][8] In 2017, he attended the Mikhailov Academy in Russia and subsequently pursued formal studies in Fine Arts at the Universidad Miguel Hernández (UMH) in Altea, Spain,[4] completing coursework in 2021 and 2022.[2]

He has also taken lessons with professors from the Repin Fine Arts Academy in Saint Petersburg.[2]

Artistic career

Rincón's first solo exhibition took place in Russia in 2016. The Gallery of Battles, featuring five historical events, including the Battle of Gaira, the Siege of Cartagena, the Last Battle of the Inca Empire against the Spanish, and the death of Gregory Rasputin.[8][9]

He has participated in solo and group exhibitions in countries including Venezuela, Russia, and Colombia.[1]
