Possible new article question

edit

Hi! (Sorry for the double topic) I've thought been about creating an article about the cancelled Bethesda games mentioned here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Bethesda_Softworks_video_games#Cancelled_games and the other ones (Oblivion Mobile, Pensacola: Wings of Gold project with CBS)

I'm not sure what to call the article though. Was wondering if you have any ideas. Timur9008 (talk) 12:30, 6 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Does it need a separate article? If there is very little info on each, I think a section on the listicle would suffice, no? IceWelder [] 12:50, 6 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I've though about it but List of canceled Command & Conquer games also exists and stuff like Roland Emmerich's unrealized projects.
IMO there is just enough info for a page. Timur9008 (talk) 13:02, 6 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
There is also more info on stuff like Blackbird https://www.trueachievements.com/news/canceled-xbox-mmo-project-blackbird Timur9008 (talk) 13:04, 6 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
If you think there is enough for a separate list article on cancelled games, go ahead. Your call. If it turns out too short, it can still be merged back into the main list. IceWelder [] 10:07, 7 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

List of canceled Bethesda Softworks games? IceWelder [] 10:48, 7 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Wouldn't Bethesda Softworks's unrealized projects work too? And article would like Roland Emmerich one be sorted by decade. (and not be just a table) Timur9008 (talk) 12:37, 7 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm not a big fan of those "poetic" names, but it's still your call. Do what you think works best here and worry about potential move requests later. :) IceWelder [] 15:18, 7 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Blind Squirrel Games

edit

The article Blind Squirrel Games has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:CORPDEPTH with insufficient secondary sources. Largely sourced to interviews and trivial announcements.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 07:47, 11 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Question

edit

Hi! I found this (3DO's 1995 annual report) [1]

Do you know what this bit means?

As of June 1995, at least 250,000 units of GEX by Crystal Dynamics have been manufactured; several other titles, including FIFA International Soccer, Road Rash, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo topped 150,000 units.

I'm assuming this is units sold? (the later half). Timur9008 (talk) 13:46, 28 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

It should probably also refer to "units manufactured", which is an odd statistic. Perhaps they equate it to units sold-in, i.e. to stores instead of customers? IceWelder [] 17:03, 28 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yeah the wording is weird. Timur9008 (talk) 06:38, 29 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

The Coalition primary logo (XGS)

edit

Hello IceWelder, the logo currently shown in the article is an official variant, but it is not the primary logo most consistently used by The Coalition in their official branding.

The studio’s main identity mark is the circular ring with “THE COALITION” beneath it that you can see in the short animation n the main page of the official website.

This the logo: File:The_Coalition_Studio_logo.svg

Could we update the infobox to reflect this? Thank you! Chocococooo (talk) 15:16, 17 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

source doubt

edit

hey friend, how to make mojang piracy text better?

and i the sources are not good? Trollface 2006ALT (talk) 01:45, 18 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

I believe there are 3 problems:
  1. The first case was not a legal dispute. Persson apparently sent "an email", then the server was taken down (voluntarily?), then they played Quake III. It's a cool story but not really relevant to the studio.
  2. The second case is handled entirely by Microsoft, so also doesn't belong into Mojang's article.
  3. Of the sources, IGN and TechTudo seem fine, but Olhar Digital looks like a blog with no name or policy attached. It should not be trated as a reliable source by default and vetted at WP:VG/RS first.
I think it fits the Minecraft article better. Consider working with the editors there on finding a wording that can be included. Article talk pages usually work better in those cases. IceWelder [] 08:26, 18 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
