editWikipedia is the world's most requested, published, accessed, and consulted source of information on LGBT+ topics, and Wikimedia LGBT+ is the organisation which supports both editors and readers of this content. The mission of Wikimedia LGBT+ is to promote the creation and expansion of queer content across all Wikimedia projects, to support queer editors and people who edit in queer content areas, to hold space for queer interests in Movement-wide policy discussions, and to promote Wikimedia projects and Open Knowledge in queer spaces.
Latest hires
editIn 2024, the Wikimedia Foundation recently awarded core funding to the organisation. In April 2025, Wikimedia LGBT+ used this grant to hire its first Executive Director and a Director of programmes and community engagement.
