Nominating featured lists in Wikipedia ![]() Welcome to featured list candidates! Here, we determine which lists are of a good enough quality to be featured lists (FLs). Featured lists exemplify Wikipedia's very best work and must satisfy the featured list criteria. Before nominating a list, nominators may wish to receive feedback by listing it at peer review. This process is not a substitute for peer review. Nominators must be sufficiently familiar with the subject matter and sources to deal with objections during the featured list candidate (FLC) process. Those who are not significant contributors to the list should consult regular editors of the list before nomination. Each nomination will typically last at least twenty days, but may last longer if changes are ongoing or insufficient discussion or analysis has occurred. For a nomination to be promoted to FL status, consensus must be reached that it meets the criteria. The directors determine whether there is consensus. A nomination will be removed from the list and archived if, in the judgment of the director who considers a nomination and its reviews:
It is assumed that all nominations have good qualities; this is why the process focuses on finding and resolving problems in relation to the criteria, rather than asserting the positives. Declarations of support are not as important as finding and resolving issues, and the process is not simply vote-counting. Once the director or a delegate has decided to close a nomination, they will do so on the nominations page. Another World Heritage Site list which will (hopefully) become a Featured List. Palestine has five Sites that are already inscribed, with 13 on the tentative list. The list follows the typical World Heritage Site list structure, modeled specifically after the Egypt list. Due to Palestine's unique relationship with UNESCO, due to the Arab-Israeli conflict, Gerald Waldo Luis has included two paragraphs in the lead to address those. Therefore, this also includes some secondary coverage, mostly in the last paragraph of the lead. - Changed it to a full sentence. Concerning your query on any new information since its closure, not really, possibly for several reasons:
- The LRT system doesn't receive a lot of coverage
- The LTA is really hesitant to give away information
- Ten Mile Junction was a really small station
- I, along with other people in Singapore, know for a fact that it was converted into a depot, but there aren't any reliable sources that explicitly say "Ten Mile Junction station was converted to Ten Mile Junction Depot". There are articles detailing how the conversion was actioned, though these come from self-published websites ran by rail enthusiasts and would thus be unacceptable as sources.

This is the list of governors of Nigeria's state of Abia from when the region was called Eastern then split into East Central and two other states, then East Central was split into Anambra and Imo states, then Abia carved out of Imo. I have been working so hard finding sources and honestly I think this at least deserves some kind of featured status like the other Sega lists. - A lot of the release date cells are completely blank. If the date is unknown, I would suggest putting something in to that effect so it doesn't look like you have forgotten to fill in the info
- This is mainly for Brazilian releases where if a game was unreleased I mark it as unreleased BUT if it was released I put it as blank due to me not finding when it was released. If there is any ideas what to do let me know maybe we could put some sort of symbol or generic footnote for "Date Unknowns", because it wont require a reference since if the info doesnt exist it doesnt exist. - Linking of publishers/developers is very random. Why is Sega linked in the publisher column on rows 2 and 5 but not row 3? As the table is sortable it should really be linked on every row.

- I wasn't a fan of the raw html in the Senate tables, so I tried replacing it in one of the cells with a template. Feel free to revert if you don't like it or it doesn't work for some reason.
- The tables in the "Senate" section aren't standard tables (e.g. in the ACT subsection there, the first column isn't for "Sustainable Australia" only). - The problem here is that the information isn't really a table (the columns have nothing to do with every row), you're just sticking boxes next to each other so that it doesn't take up a million rows in one skinny table. There's a way to indicate that it isn't a "data" table but a "presentation" table - (MOS:LTAB). I converted one table as an example. You add role=presentation to the table, drop the caption, change all '!' to '|', and since that killed the styling of the party cells I added in some. Just do the same for the rest of the Senate tables and I think you're good. --PresN 12:41, 20 August 2025 (UTC)

editWell done overall but a few issues:
- Sections should not start with "this is a list of" as it's outdated and no longer used (as it is tautological). A better start for the tallest buildings section would be "Frankfurt has x buildings over xm tall. The first was built... etc". The notes about the table should be coded as notes (for example, "The “Year” column indicates the year of completion" should not be in the lead paragraph, but as a note for the year column).
- Wording needs to be tightened up. For example "There are a few buildings taller than 100m outside the city". How many? Since we are referring to the list we should have a specific number.
- Citations in the notes column and elsewhere in the article need to go at the end of the note, not the beginning.
- I would remove the entire proposed section based on WP:CRYSTAL. Over the years of looking at these pages, most of the proposed are never even built. As an encyclopedia, it should only report actual tallest buildings, and not speculate on what buildings may be built in the future at some variable height and variable time in the future.
- Leads for the next headings need work. For example, the under construction should start with "There are x buildings under construction in Frankfurt" and maybe a sentence about them.
- Lead in timeline is not doing any work, need to summarize the table.
- All images need alt texts to meet accessibility standards.

Hey everyone, mammal list #60 in our perpetual series and rodent list #5: Caviidae. This is the first in a series of seven lists covering the Caviomorpha parvorder, aka "things shaped kinda like guinea pigs" (though it also includes porcupines, so it's not a great name). So we start out with the family that includes the guinea pig, 18 other species that look like feral guinea pigs, and 2 species of capybara, which has gotten recent internet fame for being very large and chill-looking. - I think that the first image, the map, could use more descriptive text. As the policy which History5042 cited says "With maps, diagrams and charts, the colour, position, and size of elements are not important. Instead, concentrate on the information being presented". Right now, you just have "Map of Peru showing the distribution of national protected areas by category:" which does not describe the information being presented. Instead just put the general ___location of everything, like "national parks are mostly found in the east and north of peru (just an example idk if its right)" Specify the general trend and indicate if there are outliers. This will be tedious but it is necessary
- otherwise the alt text looks quite good and detailed, does not just repreat the caption.

In continuing my series on Seattle sports team seasons, I have decided that writing about a defunct team (but not a defunct franchise) would be a nice change of pace. The original Sounders played from 1974 to 1983 in a very different soccer environment, one where Americans were allowed to change some of the sport's norms and rules to suit the tastes of the domestic audience. This list is formatted similarly to my other soccer FLs (Sounders FC, Reign, and Tacoma), with some modifications to conform with NASL's rules (as seen at the Cosmos list). The Four Continents Figure Skating Championships are the the equivalent of the European Figure Skating Championships, but for skaters outside of Europe. This is the third of the four major figure skating competitions. The results are all sourced and documented, the tables are properly formatted, a well-sourced history is provided, the sources are properly formatted, and relevant photographs are used. Additionally, I have already adapted changes that were requested on similar articles to this one so as to avoid the same issues. I am nominating this for featured list as I have expanded the prose section and followed the same structure as a similar Featured List, List of cricketers who have scored centuries in both innings of a Test match. The page has received over 33,000 views this year, and over 200,000 since I created it. It is continually being updated by numerous editors due to the nature of cricket happening year-round. "after also being" does not work and "the first player to score the first T20i century" is wrong because obviously only one player can do the first ever [something], so "first player to score the first T20i century" doesn't make sense. The whole sentence should be re-written as "The first player to score centuries in all international formats was Chris Gayle of the West Indies in 2007, who achieved the feat by scoring the first century in T20i cricket"

- Isn't "T20i" actually normally written as "T20I".......?
- The lead seems very short and like more could be added. Can you spotlight the countries with the most players on the list and note the most recent player to complete the feat?

- Tables need captions, which allow screen reader software to jump straight to named tables without having to read out all of the text before it each time. Visual captions can be added by putting

as the first line of the table code; if that caption would duplicate a nearby section header, you can make it screen-reader-only by putting|+ {{sronly|caption_text}}

This is the list of governors of Nigeria's state of Imo from when the region was called Eastern then split into East Central and two other states, then East Central was splitted into Anambra and Imo states. Well, it wasn't soon but better late than never.
- I understand that this is a large request but p. 22-32 is too large of a range, could you use sfn notes and add citation 18 into a bibliography section? You can then put the specific page next to the information you are citing it for. For similar reasons, I would request you also do this for citation 15. I believe that this is a common practice in Featured articles. if you absolutely do not want to do this, then consider asking the FLC coordinators if it would be appropriate here.
- This would not be possible without adding hundreds of new citations and bloating the reference list. It's not unreasonable to have the current long ranges due to the nature of these two sources: both are long lists of data entries, and in both cases, verification of source–text integrity is a simple matter of matching city names to a small piece of data. I see it no different than some of the website citations here and in the Washington list that require a user to scroll through hundreds of entries to find the appropriate row.

- Added a link to Western United States, but I do believe that "Pacific Northwest" is a far better and more common name than any Census designation.
- I know someone above gave you contradictory advice, but personally I would remove the reference column and simply add the reference at the end of notes. I would also complete the last two missing notes with a statement on why they are former municipalities.
- I have added notes to fill the blank cells, but will keep the references column for now.

As for the box office performance of Best Picture nominees, it's been included for every Academy Award ceremony list since data was available starting with the 55th Academy Awards (with the exception of the 93rd and 94th ones due to the pandemic making it hard to compile such figures). It's just a way to make comparisons of each nominated film.

- Ref 58 was part of a section of entitled "Blockbusters Wicked and Dune: Part Two up for awards" attributed to Sarah Whitten. That section was part of the larger ref 28, which was a running live update of the ceremony. However, I decided to combine them to avoid confusion.
- For ref 39, I changed the word "throughout" to during the "broadcast". The ref mentions AMPAS CEO Bill Kramer asking for fire relief via a QR code.
- Ref 76 (originally ref 75 in your review) was not removed because that video does list every single person that was honored as part of the "In Memoriam" montage. - @User:History6042 Manual changes are complete, and IABot has just finished archiving the remaining links; the only exception is the blank developer/publisher fields. As Sergecross said, several of these games were cancelled because their developer never found anyone willing to publish the game, so there is no publisher to list. Similarly, some games were announced by their publishers, but no developer was confirmed in the announcement. As for images, I felt the table format does not lend itself well to including inline images. Now, I hate to do this, but I feel like I must oppose this nomination. In my spotcheck, I went through 0-9 and A, and I found that nine out of 17 had minor to major citation issues, not even accounting for ambiguity re: whether something was cancelled. This leads me to believe that there are likely dozens of potential issues of OR. Delegate comment here: to make sure we're on the same page, I want to start off by saying that I was very excited to see this nomination; I've been a WPVG member for nearly 20 years and have been doing lists for a long time, and was really happy to see what could be the start of a series of FLs. I am also very familiar with the difficulty of getting precise source backing for games from the 90s, especially Japanese games, especially games that didn't even come out; this is truly a monumental undertaking and I respect that. But to add context, most source reviews find 0 concerns with the sources not backing the content, and the ones that do find issues find only a couple small ones. Spotchecks are also typically just checking a handful of citations, not checking hundreds.
At this point, Cukie has found problems with 12 out of the first 19 rows, representing checking 6% of the table and 12% of the references, and they spent a week on it. Some of these are small or gray areas- lack of specificity in the source, or things that could be added. But some are just flat out details not provided in the cited sources, and again, the expected number of problems when checking ~10% of the sources is 0, or like, 1. I appreciate that y'all have put a ton of work into this list - it's a very ambitious project! - but at this point I really recommend that y'all do a very deep scouring of the rest of the list for issues, because if the expectation is that if another reviewer looks that hard at the other 94% of the table (which would take months at this rate) that they'll find just as many issues - or even more than a handful of issues! - and y'all won't check until a reviewer catches it, then that's really not a reasonable ask for reviewers. --PresN 02:50, 22 July 2025 (UTC)

- Considering today's climate, I would probably not refer to anyone as "Soviet Ukrainian". I would just stick with "Ukrainian".
- Dovzhenko primarily self-identified as and is generally considered by sources as a Soviet citizen. That said, he was also born in Soviet Ukraine to a family with Ukrainian heritage and is strongly associated with Ukraine, especially in the context of this award. Thus, the most accurate/straightforward description of his identity is Soviet Ukrainian and the link to Soviet Ukraine also clarifies this too.
- I would recommend a proper lead (brief description of the award, brief explanation of the process, and total number awarded), and then a separate section afterward where you can go into more detail. You have several lengthy footnotes that, quite honestly, would work better as actual text.
- I would think the lead as-is is proper. It already has all the components you mentioned: a brief description of the award (paragraphs 1/2), brief explanation of the process (paragraphs 1/2), and total number awarded (paragraph 3) and doesn't include any excess information (all the lengthy details are placed in the footnotes which I think works well here since the majority of the info in the footnotes isn't necessary for a general understanding of the award). This is also supposed to be a list after all and I tried to model it on the other current award FLs (particularly the Arthur C. Clarke Award) and I think the current organization of important/general info in the lead and extra/detailed info in the efns works well.

- Unless there's a mistake somewhere, they should all be listed in the same order as they are in their cited presidential decrees.
- 2010 table formatting
- Although all the above about capitalization, the "for", and ordering are based on the presidential decrees, for 2010, because there is no presidential decree, it's done mostly for consistency with the others (i.e., capitalization matching all the other years, the "for" wording keeping it consistent with the other year rationales, and the ordering based on the other group years (1998, 1999, 2004, etc.) where the director is always listed first, then the cinematographer, and then the composer
- Movie titles should be italicized and without quotation marks.
- Fixed everywhere in the article except the table. Because 2010 is distinguished with italics, I thought italicizing the movie titles would make it somewhat confusing. There is also the issue of whether the Declaration of Love movie title should/shouldn't be italicized since the whole text as-is for 2010 is already italicized. What do you think? I could use bolding instead of italics to distinguish 2010 but I feel like that would make it stand out way too much compared to the rest of the table. There's also the option of color but again it would stand out too much and color is generally less preferable for creating distinctions in tables. Also, as mentioned in the much earlier conversation/replies, the Ukrainian Wikipage formats 2010 similar to the unawarded years and my intention with the italics was to make it so 2010 does stand out a little but not too much since a lot of the sources do ultimately treat the 2010 laureates as laureates

- Having the 2010 data italicized is fine. You can merge those reference cells since they all show the same reference (currently no. 6).
- I think having individual reference cells for each row just looks nicer (the alternative creates excess whitespace that can't be removed) and it doesn't hurt to repeat the refs for each row imo
- This is an entirely personal preference, but I would shade in the 2013 & 2018 long cells with a slightly different shade to make it stand out. Personally, I use color no. e5e4e2.

Example: "the president is then notified by the committee of the winner" but then it sounds like the winner has their own committee. Maybe you can add a comma?

- It depends, what details were you thinking? Are there any questions regarding this that the article leaves unanswered/ambiguous? The footnotes cover a lot of selection process specifics though there are additional details I left out that I could add in if they are beneficial
- The footnotes are extremely valuable and well-researched. I feel much of their content could be integrated with the text as it is not "too detailed or awkward to be in the body of the article" (as per MOS:NOTES). In addition, if there is anything that compares the process to other similar schemes, I feel that would be advantageous to readers in helping contextualise the award.
- Recommend using more secondary sources where possible as per WP:SECONDARY.
- Consider including any controversies if attested in reputable media.
- Suggest moving the content from footnote j to the main text and expanding it to a sourced discussion on the gaps in the award provision.
- The lead already does touch on footnote j's content though I don't think merging the content in would be ideal. Earlier on, I put substantial effort into finding sources but for some reason, there are no online sources that explain the gaps in the award's provision (the closest I was able to find was a brief mention in a news article about the 2021 prize that simply says "As you know, last year [2020] the Dovzhenko Prize was not awarded, and in 2019 its laureate was film director Serhiy Loznytsia for creating the film "Donbas"."). I would think this is acceptable since this seems like a case of WP:OBV. Thus, given the lack of sources/explanation, I think the current format works best.
- That is really interesting. I suggest it may be worth look at the articles in the Soviet literature like Sputnik[7] to see if there is anything. Incidentally, while I appreciate you point about it touching pn the content, I feel much of the detail in the footnote is relevant to the main body and is not "too detailed or awkward to be in the body of the article".

edit- I noticed there's no mention of Taiwan in the article and would assume it's because it's not a signatory of the convention but some explanation should still probably be added to the lead to clarify it, i.e. explain that since the end of the civil war, Taiwan has been disputed between the Taiwan-based ROC and mainland-based PRC, with both claiming the island as their own territory. Because of the One-China Policy and protests by the PRC, Taiwan has had limited representation in many international organizations and has been unable to join the convention. Also answering the questions: Why has the PRC been unable to add any sites for Taiwan? Has the PRC tried before? How did it go? What is the official UNESCO position? Has that position changed since the convention began? How are cultural heritage sites in/around Taiwan handled? What is Taiwan's position on the status of UNESCO sites in mainland China? Any other related information?

should also be added (I checked a bit and it looks like Taiwan is the only subdivision without any sites either on the WHS/tentative list but could use a second look and feel free to reword/reorganize this footnote too - Not as important but something I was curious, has any of China's WHS sites ever been listed on List of World Heritage in Danger? Maybe not so much for this list but it might make sense to include brief mentions of each country's previous site(s) inclusion on that list if applicable, when/how long they were on that list, and for what reasons they were listed and then removed

Taiwan should still have its own distinct, detailed mention given its unique case and Taiwan not being a party to the convention but other disputed territories should also be addressed if possible. List of sites, map, dates, endangered (if), shared sites, country serving on UNESCO Committee, that's more or less it. There are no sites and also no tentative sites in the disputed parts of the map. For example, the FLs for India and Venezuela do not mention details on the disputed areas either (and not sites in that area). I would consider adding a discussion in a situation similar to List of World Heritage Sites in Serbia, where the Medieval Monuments in Kosovo had been listed some years before Kosovo declared independence. The other specific situation is with the Old City of Jerusalem site, which was proposed by Jordan. There actually is a List of potential World Heritage Sites in Taiwan, but this list is not recognized by UNESCO because of the reasons you mention above. There is some discussion in that article but I'd prefer stronger sources. I changed the province-level, good suggestion. I think the link provides the required details. For the US list, I used state-level for ___location and footnotes for non-states, such as the unincorporated territories (Puerto Rico), but here the link makes perfect sense. - Thanks @Tone: for the comprehensive reply and apologies for the late follow-up. About the suggestions:
- I agree with keeping details to a minimum and in the case of this article, I also agree adding the List of potential World Heritage Sites in Taiwan link to the See also section would be a great idea.
- For disputed areas, I think it should be fine if there is no mention in the article/lead. That said, for the map caption, given the map uses different shading/lines, it should be mentioned (maybe add to the caption something along the lines of
Disputed territories of China are shaded tan while claimed borders are shown with dashed lines; there are no sites located in disputed areas.
). I think adding something similar to the map captions on the India, Pakistan, Venezuela, Israel, Palestine, Cyprus, Sudan, Syria, Russia would also be helpful since the maps used in all those articles also all use unique shading/lines to indicate disputed territories/borders, which should be clarified in the map captions imo. Also, in the case of List of World Heritage Sites in Morocco, the caption should also mention that Western Sahara is not shown, with the dashed line representing the border claimed by Western Sahara. - I won't oppose here regarding this since it is mostly about the WHS Morocco list but I think it would be good to consider: in the case of this list, there thankfully is the Taiwan list which would be an ideal ___location for the information but in other cases, there doesn't seem to be any findable places for information about the WHS status of disputed regions. In Morocco's case, List of World Heritage Sites in Morocco, List of World Heritage Sites in Africa, List of World Heritage Sites in North Africa, and World Heritage Sites by country all make no explanation of the status of Western Sahara in regards to the WHS Convention and their sites. Overall, I couldn't find any article on the English Wikipedia that discusses the WHS status of Western Sahara though it's possible I could have missed it. Personally I think a lot of readers searching for information about the WH sites/status of disputed territories will naturally go to the article or articles of the territories' claimants so having some sort of information on those articles to explain the situation or direct them to some other article where it is explained would be ideal but in any case worth considering this more imo in future/past WHS lists.

- A lot of this formatting could be pretty easy to fix. I've already taken care of the row headers, and I can work on a lot of the other issues. For sourcing, the current ref. 17 could be used for a lot of the winners (there are probably other sources compiling winners out there that are more up-to-date). Regarding images taken during other marathons... photos from Chicago would be preferred, but I think it's fine to use pictures from other races for particularly relevant individuals without pics in Chicago (in the same way that, say, we might include pictures of Academy Awards winners from other events). - When counting the 1995 men's wheelchair winners each as 0.5, I think the number of United States men's wheelchair wins is 23 not 25. When counting them as 1 each, it would still only be 24. - As an example: in the article 2024 European Athletics Championships, the Medal table ranks by number of medals, there two winners would be 2, but the Placing table ranks by number of points, there two winners would be 1. I think the Country summary should follow whichever is closer in purpose for this list.
- The running and wheelchair races seem so different that ranking the wins for both of them in one table seems slightly odd to me. However, this list is about both, so there is something to say for having one summary table and not two. Either choice seems fine to me when there's solid reasoning behind it. Does it make sense that Switzerland ranks third overall when they have zero wins in the running race but eleven in the wheelchair race?
- The different categories have different winner totals, so maybe each column should also have a cell with the total at the bottom (probably in a row fixed at the bottom). This nomination is part of the ongoing effort to move all season FLs to the GA/FA track (see here for more). It covers all seasons of The Simpsons that are FLs: seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, and 14. The nomination is primarily for procedural reasons, but many of these FLs are 15+ years old and could use updates to meet modern quality standards.
As a note, all of these seasons except 14 are currently the primary articles for good topics; those good topics would also be delisted if the season articles are not brought back to GAN/FAC. RunningTiger123 (talk) 23:35, 8 August 2025 (UTC)
