How to get a list of a page's subpages

Subpages are pages that have a parent page. They share their parent page's title, followed by a "/" (slash), followed by their own name. The Wikipedia, Portal, and User namespaces allow subpages. WikiProjects, user pages and Portals often have subpages. Below are two options to obtain a list of subpages for a particular page.

* Option 1: In the left toolbar, under tools, select Page Information and an information page is shown. In the first table, there is a link for Subpages of this page.

* Option 2: Click on Special pages in the toolbox menu on the left side of your screen. Then click on All pages with prefix which is under the header Lists of pages. Then select the namespace the page is in (from the pulldown menu), and enter the pagename in the inbox, and add a forward slash (/) to the end of the pagename. So if the pagename is "Wikipedia", then you should enter Wikipedia/ in the inbox. Then press the Show button. The subpages are displayed at the bottom. If nothing happens after pressing "Show", this means the page has no subpages.

It is important that the information in Wikipedia be true and accurate. To help ensure this, we have the Verifiability Policy, which states that all facts presented on Wikipedia must be verifiable.

When writing facts, it is very important that you cite your sources! Stick to a factual style even when writing about fiction or opinions. Providing references is particularly important for controversial opinions‍—‌instead of using weasel words like some people believe... you should cite sources to help readers learn who believes what, and why.

Keep in mind that the folks at Wikipedia's Reference desk are very knowledgeable across a wide range of subjects, and they may be able to help you track down source references for a particular detail.

The Tip of the Day project provides a different piece of advice for using Wikipedia every day. Like the Picture of the Day, you can include it on your userpage by adding {{totd}} somewhere (at the top of your talk page is a good place for it). The randomized version (displayed above) is {{totd-random}}, and shows a different tip each time it is displayed on your screen. Other formats for the TOTD exist, such as the more compact {{totd3}}, or you can make your own by including {{Wikipedia:Tip of the day/{{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{CURRENTDAY}}, {{CURRENTYEAR}}}} on your userpage (which includes the raw text, without any formatting) and then enclose it in your own formatting. Commons picture of the day

You can also display the Commons Picture of the Day, which is different from the featured picture displayed on the main page, with {{WP:Wikimedia Commons/POTD}}. Which shows this:

 TDK tape head cleaner cassette "HCL-11" made of clear hard plastic. The plastic is birefringent and demonstrates internal stress as coloured patterns (photoelasticity) when photographed using cross-polarisation. Invented by Lou Ottens and his team at the Dutch company Philips, the Compact Cassette was released on this date in August 1963.
