It should be noted that challenges in the acquisition of source input data for the HLSS30 data product have resulted in data gaps and increased latency in delivery of this data product. Work toward a solution is ongoing, but there is currently not a date for when this issue is expected to be resolved.
Improvements to the HLS v2 include:
- Additional data layers consisting of solar and viewing azimuth and zenith angle bands.
- Aerosol Quality Assurance bits from the USGS Land Surface Reflectance Code (LaSRC) model output added into the Fmask data layer.
- LaSRC version 3.1.0 is used to atmospherically correct the input Sentinel data.
