Hello,
I am trying to understand the processing undergone for the Level-2 PACE-OCI Spectral remote sensing reflectances product (OC_AOP) (Version 2, though V3 was recently released). As I understand it, this product provides Rrs in sr-1 units.
What is the atmospheric correction algorithm used to generate the PACE Level-2 OC_AOP data? Is it MBAC (https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/apt/documents/rrs/v1.1#doc-header)?
The MSI Ocean Color products (MODIS, VIIRS, OLCIS3A/S3B) provided by OB.DAAC are processed with l2gen using custom parameters. Is this correct?
Best,
Sami
PACE-OCI Level-2 AOP & other OC product processing questions
Re: PACE-OCI Level-2 AOP & other OC product processing questions
Hi Sami,
(1) yes, MBAC is used for the atmospheric correction of PACE OCI.
(2) Each sensor has its own default parameters, which are used by generating the OB.DAAC ocean color products. But you can always change these paramters.
Best,
Minwei

Adding to Minwei's answer, you can find more information regarding the V2 reprocessing on this page: https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/data/reprocessing/V2.0/pace-oci/
