MODIS L2 Flags Application

by cliffordoo » Mon Feb 10, 2025 11:01 pm America/New_York

Hello,

I have downloaded some L2 chlorophyll data from the OBPGL1/2 browser. I selected the L2 chlorophyll an option and extracted to the geographical area requested. I am interested in apply L2 flags when processing these files, but need some hope understanding the structure of the l2 flags array. Am I safe to assume that the L2 file already has the LAND, HILT, STRAYLIGHT and CLDICE applied? How do I apply other flags? I'm looking at the matrix and it has numbers such as appears in the attached files.

Just need some help decoding the flags so that I can apply the appropriate ones, such as HISATZEN, HISOLZEN and HIGLINT.

Thank you.
