Delays in MOD09A1 and MYD09A1 products.

Why are MOD09A1 and MYD09A1 products delayed beyond 2025-04-23?

I'm trying to understand the current delay in the availability of MOD09A1 and MYD09A1 surface reflectance products. According to the USGS FTP servers:

MOD09A1.061: https://e4ftl01.cr.usgs.gov/MOLT/MOD09A1.061/?C=N;O=D

MYD09A1.061: https://e4ftl01.cr.usgs.gov/MOLA/MYD09A1.061/?C=N;O=D

The last available granules correspond to the acquisition period from 2025-04-23 to 2025-04-30. However, the subsequent periods (expected to cover 2025-05-01 to 2025-05-08, and 2025-05-09 to 2025-05-16) have not yet been published.

Is there any known issue or reason for this delay?
Would appreciate any updates or guidance on where to check for processing status.

Hello @savee That is unexpected. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. We are looking into it and hope to have the data available soon. As a side note, as we are moving to the cloud, we will be retiring the LP DAAC Data Pool in the near future, the official date is TBD still, so if you haven't already, we strongly encourage you to start looking at AppEEARS (https://appeears.earthdatacloud.nasa.gov/) or Earthdata Search (https://search.earthdata.nasa.gov/) to prepare for that transition. I've also made changes to my script to use the AppEEARS application, but I haven’t fully transitioned yet since the Data Pool is still functional. Hello @dgolon, could you please confirm whether all granules for the date 2025-05-01 are already available in the data pool?

Currently, I only see the following tiles for both MOD09A1 and MYD09A1 products:

* h11v01, h14v15, and h24v01.

Just wanted to check if this is the full set for that date (i.e. there are some missing tiles) or if more granules are expected to be added.

Hi @savee We are looking into this. Thanks for mentioning it. Our Data Pool is down today for planned maintenance but I was able to confirm what you are seeing in Earthdata Search.

Just closing the loop on this post, these data were made available later. Please let us know if you are still seeing any missing May data. Please note we did have a Data Outage from June 1 - 14 and are working on backfilling the data for June.
