The LP DAAC will be migrating to the new Earthdata website in June 2025. As part of that process, the majority of our content will be discoverable on the LP DAAC page under the Centers menu on the new website. This announcement will focus on how to navigate to the LP DAAC center page to access data, tools, news, and resources.
Access the Earthdata website then expand the “Centers” drop down menu at the top of the page to select Land Processes (LP) DAAC.
The LP DAAC page houses all information related to the LP DAAC through each of the seven tabs located at the top of the page.
On the “Overview” page users are able to view Mission Products, MEaSUREs Products, and Community Products as well as information about the LP DAAC. The content on the Products tabs is similar to LP’s Collection Overview and includes links to additional information on instrument and project pages.
The “Data and Tools” tab provides a list of all tools that are used to access and/or work with LP DAAC data products. Below the tools section, is the Data at LP DAAC section where a list of all of the data products available from the LP DAAC, as well as decommissioned data products, will be located. This list will be populated during the official release in June 2025.
The “News” tab has the latest news stories and featured articles featuring LP DAAC data. Note that this news section does not contain data outages, decommissioning, or data release information, that information is now located in the “Data Alerts and Outages” section instead.
The “Learn” section offers many learning resources available to users such as data in action articles and storymaps, webinars, tutorials, and data recipes.
The “Contact” tab provides contact information for our User Services team who can answer questions concerning LP DAAC data, applications, resources, or other activities.
The “People” tab lists some of the managers, scientists, and leads at the LP DAAC.
The “Preservation Documents” tab contains associated documentation and Preservation Content Specification components beyond the lifetime of Missions funded by NASA’s Earth Science Division.
We are encouraging our users to access the new website to become familiar with the layout.
