Hi, I’m using SeaBASS to search for satellite validation data of IOPs, and I noticed that the returned variable names often have a "_giop" suffix — for example, in situ adg_giop443 and SeaWiFS adg_giop443, as shown in the figure below.
I’m a bit confused about the meaning of these variables. Are both derived using the GIOP algorithm, one based on in situ Rrs and the other on satellite Rrs? Or is in situ adg_giop443 simply the measured absorption coefficient of adg, not an inversion result?
