PACE OCI resolution question

by slsmit34 » Mon Jul 21, 2025 4:35 pm America/New_York

Hi All,
I am working with L2_AOP OB.DAAC PACE OCI product, which according to SeaDAS has a pixel spacing of 1.2km x 1.1km. However, I understand that each of these pixels is actually a combination of 4 scan line swaths that are about 1.2km x 250m each. They are added together to improve the SNR, and together these 4 scan lines make up the 1.2km x 1.1km pixel. Is this true?

If so, is there a way I can access the finer resolution data (1.2km x 250m) PACE? Would I have to go back to L0 or L1 to do so? Would it be too noisy to even bother? I am working in coastal environments and so this higher resolution would be beneficial. Thanks for the help!

Best,
Sami

Actually 4 pixels are aggregated in the across track direction. The aggregation is done on the spacecraft before the data is transmitted. We do not have enough bandwith to send all the data. There is no way to get the individual unaggregated data.
