The Advanced Liquid Processing System or ALPS is a plant being used to remove radionuclides from the radioactive water being discharged as part of the Fukushima nuclear accident cleanup following the accident that destroyed and damaged reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
