Appetite for Destruction Tour

L'Appetite for Destruction Tour è stata il primo tour mondiale dei Guns N' Roses, in promozione al loro album di debutto Appetite for Destruction del 1987. Il tour è durato ben 16 mesi, e ha visto i Guns aprire concerti per The Cult, Mötley Crüe, Alice Cooper, Iron Maiden, e Aerosmith. E' stato l'unico tour in cui i Guns si sono esibiti con la loro formazione originale (Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin, Steven Adler)^[1][2].

Morti al Monsters of Rock

Il 20 agosto 1988, i Guns presero parte al festival Monsters of Rock a Donington, Londra. A inizio concerto, i 100.000 fans presenti iniziarono a muoversi continuamente avanti e indietro. Nonostante le richieste di Axl Rose di far allontanare la folla dalle transenne che li separavano dal palco, due fans morirono calpestati dalla folla mentre il gruppo eseguiva It's So Easy. La questione ebbe enorme impatto mediatico, e i Guns vennero poi accusati di aver continuato l'esibizione nonostante le pericolose condizioni della folla. In realtà, non appena venuti a sapere della morte dei due ragazzi, seppur a concerto ormai inoltrato, la band richiamò nuovamente la folla e si sbrigò a chiudere in fretta l'esibizione^[3].
