Jay Shields (born 6 July 1985 in Edinburgh) is a Scottish footballer currently playing for Dundee on loan from Scottish Premier League club Hibernian.

A tough battler and a competent defender, Shields made his Hibernian debut in 2004 but was loaned out to Berwick Rangers for first-team experience. After returning to a Hibs squad ravaged with injuries in the season 2005-06, Shields went on to make 7 starts in the right-back position. After impressing the fans and manager, he was given a new one-year deal at Hibs. He was loaned to Dundee in December 2006.
