If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

• Please make sure you really need technical assistance before making a request here. In particular, if the target page is a redirect back to the source page that has only one revision, you can usually move the page normally.
• To list a technical request: edit the Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:

  This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
• To request a reversion of a recent undiscussed move: Review the the guidelines at WP:RMUM of whether a reversion of an undiscussed move qualifies as uncontroversial and if so, edit the Requests to revert undiscussed moves subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:

  This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page. Note that in some cases, clerks, such as administrators or page movers may determine that your request for a reversion does not pass the criteria and may move the request to the contested section or open a formal requested move discussion for potentially controversial moves on your behalf.
• If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
• If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.   This would warrant a full discussion because it seems like "Lidia" is the WP:COMMONNAME in English-language sources: The New York Times, BBC, The Independent, The Washington Post, The Times, Los Angeles Times, El Pais, Reuters, Encyclopædia Britannica, Bolivian Express, United Press International, etc., as well as numerous books and academic sources.   Would WP:COMMONNAME really apply in this situation, though? That policy seems to be most applicable to people known by a name or nickname different from their birthname. In this case, the only difference is that one spelling is the more correct one. Should a misspelling be preferred simply because most sources use it?   That'd be up to the RM process to decide. Since most sources spell it "Lidia", it's likely that somebody searching for her article would also expect it to be at "Lidia". At most, IMO, we should include a WP:EXPLNOTE in the lead of her article explaining that it is sometimes spelled "Lydia". RachelTensions (talk) 03:25, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Assadzadeh The current name is consistent with Columbus metropolitan area, Georgia, but also I feel that the Ohio page might deserve primary topic for Columbus metropolitan area as it has approximately 5x the views as the Georgia page. This current name seems to be the result of some 2016 discussion that I am having a hard time finding. Either way, it would need a mass move request or RFC given there are many other articles in the same vein (Rochester metropolitan area, New York among others).   I do. There's an article talking about the name change in detail. The club's page has algo updated the name, and it's also on it's X (twitter) account.

  I assume the new name is also present on the RFEF official tables.

  Is there a shorter WP:COMMONNAME for this civil service? Probably "DANICS"? Surely nobody commonly refers to it as "Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli (Civil) Services"

  Change to another title Both the current title and the new one suggested by 117.230.80.188 seem to be too long as per Wikipedia:Concise. DANICS meets WP:UCRN since it is the most common one found in sources and is much shorter than the current title and should be used instead. Sangsangaplaz (Talk to me!   Thank you for your response. Admittedly, I may have been mistaken, as I just came across a conflicting source. While the University of Cambridge Language Centre defines Rolong as a dialect of Setswana, an article from Sabinet African Journals asserts that Barolong is the plural form of Marolong, both terms referring to the ethnic group. Rolong appears to be an encompassing term. This article is the only source I have found that states this, though. Nonetheless, thank you for your skepticisim; I am happy to have come across this, and I mean that genuinely. I wonder if the name should be left alone. Or should the plural form be used?
