Sorry, unregistered users cannot be granted permissions due to technical restrictions. Please create an account in order to request user account permissions.
Shortcuts
Please review the AWB guide before making a request. Users are rarely approved unless they have either 250 non-automated mainspace edits or 500 total mainspace edits. You can check your non-automated contributions on XTools. Administrators are automatically approved and do not need to request access. For bots, you must first have a bot approval request approved, or in trial; link to your BRFA in the request.
This page is for requesting AWB Access for English Wikipedia only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.
If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage. If you will make many or fast automated edits using AWB, you may wish to use a separate (or bot) account for that purpose; first create the account, give it a userpage declaring it to be your alternate account, then make the request using your main account.
Please note that administrators may not ping you in replies, so please check on your request if you have not heard anything.
Especially for new users, it is helpful (although not strictly required) to explain what specific task you intend to use AWB to do in your request.

I do a lot of work adding and improving short descriptions, and I also spend time fixing typos and cleaning up citations.

AWB would make these routine, non-controversial edits much faster, and I’ll be sure to review every change before saving to keep everything in line with Wikipedia’s guidelines.

I am now in college, which means I may not be able to improve articles to Good Article status as much as I have used to. However, I would like to still help improve the enyclopedia in other ways. AWB would allow me to help fix the more mundane issues, which have bugged me anytime I find an obscure page or one of the many articles on US ships that was copy and pasted from a source. I already have been autopatrolled and have ~4,500 edits along with 8 GAs, 1 Good Topic, and an A-class article already on my belt. Thank you for the consideration! I've been granted as a New Page Reviewer (which I think on October 2024 or January 2025). ~ 7,500+ edits, as well as contributions to 3 GAs and 2 FLs.
