Sorry, unregistered users cannot be granted permissions due to technical restrictions. Please create an account in order to request user account permissions.
Shortcuts
Please review the AWB guide before making a request. Users are rarely approved unless they have either 250 non-automated mainspace edits or 500 total mainspace edits. You can check your non-automated contributions on XTools. Administrators are automatically approved and do not need to request access. For bots, you must first have a bot approval request approved, or in trial; link to your BRFA in the request.
This page is for requesting AWB Access for English Wikipedia only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.
If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage. If you will make many or fast automated edits using AWB, you may wish to use a separate (or bot) account for that purpose; first create the account, give it a userpage declaring it to be your alternate account, then make the request using your main account.
Please note that administrators may not ping you in replies, so please check on your request if you have not heard anything.
Especially for new users, it is helpful (although not strictly required) to explain what specific task you intend to use AWB to do in your request.

Most of my edits are fixing typos, cleaning up citations improving short descriptions and fixing bare URLs. I also spend time watching recent changes and reverting vandalism. Having AWB will help me make these small, routine edits faster and more consistent. I will always check my edits before saving and use the tool responsibly. Thanks for responding. I would like to use AWB for routine maintenance tasks that I've been doing manually up until this point, which has been quite time-consuming - and a little difficult to do consistently.
My primary intended uses include category maintenance, standardising templates, and basic cleanup tasks such as fixing formatting issues and standardising reference formatting. For link maintenance, I would focus on updating disambiguation links and fixing broken wikilinks following page moves, particularly in areas related to Wales biography, geography, and politics where I have experience.
I understand the importance of responsible use and will ensure all edits follow Wikipedia policies with appropriate edit summaries.

Mostly for maintenance tasks, streamlining repairing and bettering redirects, links, etc, and cleaning up citations as I work on rewriting articles in my topic area. Using AWB will hopefully allow me to work on these smaller edits more easily and consistently without having to go through and do it all by hand.
