John Abramovic

John "Brooms" Abramovic (born February 19, 1919 in Etna, Pennsylvania; died June 9, 2000 in Ormond Beach, Florida) was an American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association.

He played basketball at Salem College (now Salem International University) in Salem, West Virginia before going on to play for three different NBA teams (and one NBL team) in the mid-1940s.

At 6 ft. 3 in., Abramovic played at the forward position.

Abramovic was the first player to score 2,000 points in college basketball history.

He led the nation in scoring for two straight years (1941-42, 1942-43).

He is a member of the Pennsylvania and West Virginia Sports Halls of Fame.
