As far as I can tell, this "standard" has been created by a single vendor, and is only used in their products. No evidence has been provided that this is anything other than an advertisement. The article tries to draw a comparison with ASN.1, but the fact is that ASN.1 is a heavily used international standard, whereas this, as far as I can tell, is something that a single company has invented, and no one is using it save them and their customers.
