History and overview

edit

DataDome was founded in 2015 by Benjamin Fabre and Fabien Grenier and is headquartered in New York City.[5]

The company’s platform uses machine learning and behavioral analysis to detect and block automated traffic.[6] It evaluates requests based on IP reputation, device fingerprinting, and user behavior. Its services include bot detection, account protection, fraud prevention. and DDoS mitigation.[7][8]

Funding rounds include €2.5 million in 2017 led by ISAI and 50 Partners Capital,[9] $35 million in series B funding in 2021 led by Elephant,[10][11][12] and $42 million in series C funding in 2023 led by InfraVia Growth.[13][14][15]

In 2024, DataDome introduced Device Check, a tool that analyzes device signals to detect bots and reduce reliance on CAPTCHA.[16] The company also launched Ad Protect and Account Protect,[17] and expanded its public bug bounty program with YesWeHack.[18]

A 2024 report by DataDome found that 68% of U.S. websites lacked protection against basic automated attacks.[19] The platform integrates with cloud and on-premises systems, including Amazon Web Services[20][21] and Google Cloud.[22][23][24]
