Submission declined on 8 July 2025 by Pythoncoder (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. Your draft shows signs of having been generated by a large language model, such as ChatGPT. Their outputs usually have multiple issues that prevent them from meeting our guidelines on writing articles. These include: Declined by Pythoncoder 49 days ago.

Comment: I read Norwegian and agree that the sources do not provide coverage beyond funding and that a CEO quit. There is not enough here. Lijil (talk) 13:12, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
Comment: All of the cited sources (that I could access) are trivial passing mentions (e.g. Ref. 11) or routine listings of funding raised, sales numbers, etc. (insufficient for WP:CORPDEPTH). The one exception is Ref. 1, which is an interview (not independent). Multiple reliable, independent, in-depth references are needed to have an article. Also, there are still signs of lazy AI use, such as chopped-up prose and overuse of section headers. WeirdNAnnoyed (talk) 11:48, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
Comment: From the references I translated in Google Translate, they all appear to be about funding or general announcements which would fall under WP:ROUTINE. We would need to see references that meet WP:CORPDEPTH in order to show notability. Leaving for another reviewer should someone be more proficient in the language and I am missing something. Boost.ai was founded in Stavanger, Norway, in 2016. In an interview, founder Lars Ropeid Selsås stated the company was created to develop conversational AI that could better understand user intent, aiming to move beyond the simpler, rule-based chatbots common at the time.[1] In its first two years, the company reported revenue growth to nearly 39 million Norwegian kroner.[2]
Funding and Ownership
editIn 2018, the company secured a $5 million Series A funding round from Alliance Venture to support its international expansion.[3]
In 2020, private equity firm Nordic Capital acquired a majority stake, becoming a significant owner. The partnership was aimed at accelerating the company's product development and growth. The deal was reported in the Norwegian financial press, with Dagens Næringsliv noting the company's valuation at up to NOK 2 billion.[4]
Following the acquisition, the company's financial performance was subject to media reporting. In August 2023, Dagens Næringsliv reported that the company had incurred losses of 215 million kroner in the two years prior.[5] In July 2024, Shifter reported that company revenue had grown to 99.6 million NOK in 2023, while pre-tax losses were recorded at -69.1 million NOK.[6]
Leadership
editFounder Lars Ropeid Selsås served as the company's CEO until November 2022, when he transitioned to a product development role.[7] Jerry Haywood was appointed as the new CEO in December 2022.[8]
Research
editIn 2018, Boost.ai partnered with the Norwegian research organization SINTEF on a project focused on the user-centered design of chatbots for customer loyalty.[9]
Partnerships and Clients
editAccording to reporting by Dagens Næringsliv, Boost.ai's first client was the Norwegian bank Sparebank 1 SR-Bank. The company has also provided services to other major Nordic companies, including the telecommunications provider Telenor and the bank DNB.[10] In 2025, the company announced a partnership with the US financial technology provider Jack Henry to supply conversational AI to its network of banks and credit unions.[11]
Industry Recognition and Awards
editBoost.ai was Named a "Challenger" in the 2023 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Conversational AI Platforms.[12]
