Brickken is a real world asset tokenization company based in Barcelona, Spain.[1] The purpose of the company is to allow businesses and individuals to launch, trade and manage tokenized real world assets with the help of a decentralized application called the Tokensuite.[2]
History
editBrickken was founded in July 2020 by Edwin mata and Dario Lo Buglio[3]. The whitepaper of Brickken was released in June 2021.[4] In november 2022 brickken launched a dApp (Decentralized application) called the Tokensuite, with this application users could self-tokenize their assets.[5] This was a shift from their earlier centralized form of asset tokenization.
In april 2023 Brickken became part of the cointelegraph accelerator program, with the goal of launching content that would help in the marketing of brickken.[6] In may that year Brickken also became a member of the Chainlink Build program, which is an initiative designed to help both early-stage and established Web3 projects grow by providing them with enhanced access to Chainlink services and technical support.[7] In June 2024 Brickken became part of the EU regulatory sandbox, which is an initiative from the European commission to provide legal certainty for decentralized technological solutions, including blockchain, by ongoing dialogue between public institutions and private entities. [8] In januari 2025 brickken completed a seed funding round of €2.4 million, at this time the company was valued at €21.7 million. The strategic investors that were part in the seed funding were Psalion, Ergodic Fund, SNZ Capital, Blue Bay Ventures, Mocha, and Hodl Ventures.[9]
Universal Real World Asset Interface
editIn June 2025 Brickken's head of blockchain Dario Lo Buglio launched a tokenstandard called ERC-7943 (nicknamed Universal Real World Asset Interface). The purpose of this tokenstandard is to enable Defi-protocols and applications to interact with Real World Assets in a standardized way and to make sure that they comply with regulatory requirements that are often absent in earlier tokenstandards.[10]
