Browserbase was founded in 2024 by Paul Klein IV in San Francisco, California.[1]

In June 2024, the company announced a US$6.5 million seed funding round led by Kleiner Perkins, as reported by TechCrunch.[1] In November 2024, it reported a US$21 million Series A co-led by CRV and Kleiner Perkins.[3] In June 2025, TechCrunch reported a US$40 million Series B led by Notable Capital (formerly GGV Capital).[2]
