Chosen Masters

edit

Chosen Masters is a Canadian music-technology company founded in 2016 by software developer Elon Sharar. The web-based platform offers cloud tools for audio mastering, distribution, merchandise design and automated music-video generation aimed at independent artists.[1][2]

History

edit

Sharar launched Chosen Masters from Ottawa in 2016 as an online alternative to traditional studio mastering.

Technology

edit

The platform’s mastering engine uses machine-learning models to apply multiband compression, equalisation, limiting and harmonic enhancement. Users can preview several loudness or tonal profiles before downloading a final master.[1]

Beyond mastering, Chosen Masters provides stem-mixing features, sample libraries and MIDI instruments. Artist-facing services include merchandise storefronts, fan analytics, event ticketing and payment processing through Stripe.[2]

Reception

edit
  • Mixmag described the mastering engine as “a neural-powered breakthrough in semi-automated music production,” citing its lower cost compared with competing services.[1]
  • In a separate feature on the platform’s merch maker, Mixmag called the tool an “accessible, all-in-one solution for artists to design and launch apparel.”[2]
  • In a detailed editorial, We Rave You contributor Hemant Khatri described the **Quartz mastering engine and Free Merch Maker** as a “game‑changer for independent creators,” providing in-depth analysis of the platform’s tools, pricing, and impact.[3]
  • Magnetic Magazine contributor Will Vance analyzed the platform in a broader editorial on AI mastering, citing Chosen Masters among leading online services offering “crisp, genre-aware processing” for independent producers.[4]
