editFOSSA was founded by CEO Kevin Wang in 2015. In September 2019, the company announced a Series A round led by Bain Capital Ventures (along with Costanoa Ventures and Norwest Venture Partners).[3] In October 2020, FOSSA announced a Series B round that also included Bain Capital Venture and Costanoa Ventures, in addition to Canvas Ventures.[4]
In August 2024, FOSSA acquired StackShare, an online community used by developers discuss tools and tech stacks.[5]
