Fennec is an American electronic music producer and DJ known for his sample-driven house music that incorporates elements of funk, disco, and hip-hop.[1] Active since 2014, he has released several albums and EPs, including A Couple of Good Days (2022) and Momentary Pleasure (2025), which have received critical recognition for their inventive use of samples and melodic textures.[2] Originally from Indiana, Fennec is based in Austin, Texas.[3]
Career
editFennec began releasing music in 2014, self-publishing early tracks and albums online.[4] His early works, including Grief Stage Player (2016), showcased a minimalist production style with introspective themes.[4] Over time, his sound incorporated more rhythmic, club-oriented structures, often sampling from a wide range of sources.[1]
In 2022, he released A Couple of Good Days, an album characterized by upbeat tempos, layered percussion, and bright melodic samples.[2] The record received favorable reviews, with critics highlighting its summery tone and inventive use of source material.[2]
Fennec signed with the Swedish label Studio Barnhus in 2025 for the release of his EP Momentary Pleasure, which featured four tracks reflecting his evolving production style.[5][4]
