Submission declined on 9 August 2025 by Pythoncoder (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. Declined by Pythoncoder 15 days ago. | ![]() |

Comment: This tells us everything the company would like us to know about them. It is not a neutral encyclopaedia article. Theroadislong (talk) 16:58, 23 July 2025 (UTC)

FileCloud is an enterprise content collaboration platform developed by CodeLathe Inc., a private software company headquartered in New York City, with offices in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Limerick, Ireland.[1][2] FileCloud was introduced as a successor to Tonido and developed for enterprise file synchronization, sharing, and compliance-oriented data management.
History
editFileCloud originated from Tonido, a peer-to-peer personal cloud solution developed by CodeLathe in 2008.[1] CodeLathe, founded by Madhan Kanagavel and Manoj Mohandas, initially marketed Tonido and related hardware such as the TonidoPlug to home users.[2] In 2012, the company introduced FileCloud, marking its transition into enterprise software.[3][4]
In December 2021, FileCloud raised $30 million in a Series A funding round led by Savant Growth, with participation from Kennet Partners, and secured an additional $10 million credit facility from Avidbank.[5] Following the round, Ray Downes was appointed CEO and Peter Melerud became Chief Revenue Officer, while Kanagavel moved to the role of President & CTO.
In 2022, the company opened a European headquarters in Limerick, Ireland. FileCloud acquired Signority, a Canadian electronic signature and document workflow provider in May 2024.[6][7] In January 2025, it received further investment from Level Structured Capital, its first growth equity funding since the Series A round.[8]
Features
editFileCloud provides tools for file sharing, synchronization, and backup. The platform integrates with directory services such as Active Directory, LDAP, and SAML/SSO, and is accessible through web, desktop, and mobile platforms.[5]
Security features include encryption of data in transit and at rest, support for two-factor authentication, and ransomware protection through versioning and anomaly detection.[6] FileCloud also offers compliance tools for regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA.[7]
Deployment is available in three deployment modes: self-hosted (FileCloud Server), fully managed cloud (FileCloud Online), and hybrid configurations.[9][8]
Leadership and Governance
editFollowing its Series A, Ray Downes became CEO and Peter Melerud joined as CRO.[10]
Recognition and Awards
editFileCloud has been included in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Content Collaboration Platforms. [11]
From a cloud partnership standpoint, in 2019, FileCloud was designated an AWS Advanced Technology Partner. The recognition was followed by achieving the AWS Digital Workplace Competency.[12]
Notable Events
editIn December 2021, FileCloud secured its first institutional funding by securing $30 million in a Series A funding round led by Savant Growth Fund I LP, with participation from Kennet Partners. In conjunction with this equity financing, the company also obtained a $10 million credit facility from Avidbank.[10]
In July 2022, FileCloud announced the opening of its EMEA headquarters and R&D center in Limerick, Ireland. The expansion was announced in collaboration with IDA Ireland, with plans to create 50 new roles in software engineering, operations, sales, and marketing.[13]
In May 2024, FileCloud completed its first acquisition by acquiring Signority, a Canada-based electronic signature and digital workflow provider founded in 2010.[14] The acquisition also retained Signority’s Canadian operations and leadership team, including CEO Jane He, who continues to lead the e-signature business unit.[15]
In January 2025, FileCloud received investment from Level Structured Capital (an affiliate of Level Equity). Although the amount was undisclosed, the investment was intended to support product development and international expansion.[16]
FileCloud joined the AWS ISV Accelerate Program in 2025. This program enables select AWS partners to co-sell their services to enterprise customers.[16]
