Comment: I've said this about a thousand South Asian films, so it's only fair I say it also about a Hollywood one: there is no way a film more than a year away from planned release can be notable yet (unless there is something truly noteworthy about it, per WP:NFF, which I'm not seeing here). editIn December 2024, a new film in the Meet the Parents franchise was reported to be in development at Universal Pictures. John Hamburg was set to write the script, while Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, and Blythe Danner are negotiating to reprise their roles from the previous films.[1]
In March 2025, John Hamburg was confirmed to be writing and directing the film. The cast was confirmed to reprise their roles as well.[2] In May 2025, Ariana Grande joined the cast.[3]
In June 2025, it was announced that Paramount Pictures, co-financier and the international distributor of Little Fockers (2010), would co-produce the film.[4] Later that month, Owen Wilson joined the cast, reprising his role as Kevin Rawley.[5] In late July, Skyler Gisondo was in talks to join the film.[6] Later that month, it was announced that the film had been titled Focker In-Law, with Gisondo confirmed to be joining the cast alongside Beanie Feldstein.[7]
Principal photography began on August 18, 2025 in New York City and is expected to last until November 4.[8]
Release
