Johnson Praize is a Ghanaian gospel musician, singer, songwriter, actor and social commentator. He is known for his single You Are Not a Man released in July 2025, which has received airplay in Europe and the United Kingdom, and coverage in international gospel and entertainment media.[1][2][3]
Early life
editJohnson Praize was born in Ghana.[4] He lost his father at the age of nine and was raised in a Christian family.[5] During his childhood, he faced financial hardship and periods of rejection, including being displaced from his family home.[5] To support himself, he took on small labor jobs while continuing his education.[5] Despite these challenges, he completed his schooling and developed a passion for gospel music during his teenage years.[6]
Music career
editPraize began his music career with the release of his debut album, Miracle God, in 2018, which included tracks such as Great Is Thy Faithfulness, Kyereme W’akwan, God of Miracles, Ayeyi de wo Praises medley, More of you and Obeko Ama Wo.[7] He released singles including Holy Are You Lord (Kronkron Ne Wo Ewurade) in 2019,[8] and No Other Name (Tumi Wɔ W’omu) in 2021.
In June 2025, he released Divine Encounter (Live Worship), followed by You Are Not a Man in July 2025. The single was also featured by Jamsphere Magazine in the United States,[9] and on the Portuguese gospel blog Your Music Hub.[10]
The song has received international radio airplay, including on Radio Flames in Italy,[11] Power Ace Radio in the United Kingdom,[12] Kristocentric Radio in Ghana,[13] and Starshot Radio in Minnesota, United States.[14]

editIn July 2024, Andrews Johnson, professionally known as Johnson Praize, appeared on Ahotor FM’s Ye Pe Ahunu programme, where he outlined policy proposals as an aspiring parliamentary candidate for the Asunafo South Constituency. His proposals included a Cocoa Regeneration Initiative to revive cocoa farms, the "Dua Ma Mentor" policy (meaning "Plant and sell to me") to support farmers and encourage youth participation in agriculture, a skills-training and alternative-livelihood programme, and plans to use Kukuom Agric Senior High School and Sankore Senior High School as weekend IT training centres to train 1,000 people. The General Secretary of the Ghana Federation of Labour, Abraham Koomson, praised Johnson’s proposals and leadership in comments reported by Metro TV Online.[20]
Acting career
editIn 2024, Johnson Praize made his acting debut in the gospel film War Between Two Sisters (Exodus in the Diaspora), produced by Jollywood Movies UK.[21] He played the role of a pastor in the film, which explores themes of faith, family, and resilience within the African diaspora. He played the role of a pastor in the film.
