• Comment: None of the links seem to provide independent significant coverage of this company. Most of the links seem to be about Voith, the company that used to own this one. While it is fine to have this as background, the article also needs significant coverage of Leadec as an independent company to demonstrate its notability for a Wikipedia article. History

edit

Origin of the company

edit

The company traces its origins to 1962, when Reichenberger & Co. was founded as a boiler cleaning business. During the 1960s, services expanded to external maintenance of machines and systems. The company was later renamed Deutsche Industriewartung GmbH, Reichenberger & Co., and in 1985 became Deutsche Industriewartung GmbH & Co. KG (DIW).[5] In 1986, Salamander and Voith acquired DIW.[6]

In 2000, Voith established Voith Industrial Services as a group division.[7] The same year it acquired a stake in Hörmann Industrietechnik. In 2004, Voith Servicos Industriais do Brasil Ltda. was founded.[8] In 2005, the company acquired Premier Manufacturing Support Services, Inc.[9][10] In 2006, it acquired a majority stake in Hörmann Industrietechnik.[11] In 2014, Helix Systems Inc. (260 employees; US$30 million in sales) was acquired by Voith Industrial Services,[12][13] and later that year the company sold its subsidiary DIW.[14]

In 2016, Voith sold its industrial services division to the private equity firm Triton.[15][16] The division was subsequently split into Leadec and Veltec,[17] and on 23 January 2017 it was rebranded as Leadec.[18] Veltec was sold to Plant Systems & Services PSS GmbH in 2018.[19] According to the company, the name “Leadec” combines “lead” and “tec”.[20]

In 2020, Leadec acquired Diversified Automation, a US-based provider in logistics and parcel services.[21] The transaction reduced the share of automotive-related revenue from about 80% to 70%.[22] It was the company’s largest acquisition to date.[23]

In 2023, the company established Leadec France SAS in Paris and commenced operations in France.[24] In early 2024, according to a company media release, it began operations in Spain and Portugal via a multi-year integrated facility management contract for an international technology and services company.[25] In January 2025, Leadec acquired Manteniments Industrials Servycat 2017, S.L.U. and Electro Servycat, S.L. in Spain.[26][27]
