Pradhan Mantri Internship Yojana (PMIS, transl. Prime Minister's Internship Scheme) or simply PM Internship Scheme was launched by Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India on 03-October-2024 to provide internship opportunities to the youths in nation's leading companies.[1][2][3]
Overview
editIt was proposed to support 10 million youths through the scheme with a budgetary allocation of ₹20 billion (US$240 million) for 2024-25 and ₹108.31 billion (US$1.3 billion) for 2025-26.[4][5]
In the first phase of the scheme, about 28,000 candidates accepted the offer and, over 8,700 candidates joined their internship.[5] In the second phase, as on 17-July-2025, over 22,500 candidates have been accepted the offer.[6][7]

Features
editThe scheme offers a one-year internship with a monthly stipend of ₹5,000. It includes a training program of at least six months' duration across various roles and sectors. Additionally, interns receive a one-time joining grant of ₹6,000.[8][10][3]
