Recuperando a mi Ex (literally: Getting My Ex Back) is a 2018 Mexican rom com directed by Gabriel Guzmán Sánchez and written by Guzmán Sánchez and Miguel Valdez-López, starring Andrés Almeida, Adriana Louvier, Sofía Niño de Rivera, Ricardo O'Farrill, Jan Cornet, Mia Rubin and Anabel Ferreira. It was produced by Alejandra Garcia, Antonio Urdapilleta and Guzmán Sánchez for IMAGYX Entertainment and La Palma de Oro Films, and premiered in cinemas on September 28, 2018.

Plot

Francisco (Almeida) is a selfish, has-been actor pigeonholed by a popular TV superhero character he played years ago. When he finds out that Laura (Louvier), his ex-wife, is about to remarry and take their daughter, Alicia (Rubín), to live abroad, Francisco manipulates his own mother (Ferreira), his agent (Niño de Rivera), his only friend and number one fan (O'Farrill) and even his own daughter to try to stop the wedding and get his family back, while unwillingly facing his inner demons and learning that in order to grow up, you don't need to be a superhero.

Recuperando a mi Ex is the film debut of popular stand-up comedian Ricardo O'Farrill, and the second film Sofía Niño de Rivera starred in 2018, after A Woman with No Filter. It is also notable for having popular Mexican YouTube personalities on small roles, such as Daniel Sosa and Ben Shorts.

Its main locations were in Mexico City, the outskirts of Cuernavaca, Morelos and Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
