Splitit is a financial technology company that provides installment payment solutions by allowing consumers to split purchases using their existing credit cards.[1] The company is headquartered in Atlanta, USA[2], and serves merchants worldwide.

History

edit

Splitit was founded in 2009 as PayItSimple by Alon Feit and Gil Don to develop its card-linked installment technology. Its patent was granted in 2012, a date often referenced by sources as the company's operational start in BNPL services.[3]

According to a U.S. patent (US 8290864 B2) assigned to Splitit Ltd, the company was granted a patent on October 16, 2012, for a "method and system for facilitating credit transactions" that allows a purchase to be divided into installment payments without requiring new financing or credit checks.[4]

Nandan Sheth was appointed CEO in 2022[5].

Products and services

edit

Splitit provides technology that enables consumers to split purchases into installment payments directly on their credit cards, without requiring new financing or credit checks.[6]

Partnerships

edit

Splitit has formed partnerships with payment processors and technology providers.[7] [8] [9] In 2025, the company announced a partnership with Samsung to power installment payments through Samsung Wallet.[10]
