Thomas Overbye is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University.[1] He is also the holder of the O'Donnell Foundation Chair III, the Director of the Smart Grid Center,[2] and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.[3] He is a co-author of a leading textbook in his field, received the IEEE Power and Energy Society Outstanding Power Engineering Educator Award[4] in 2011, and leads a large and diverse research group.
