Tower Defense game

Tower Battles is a tower defense type game published on the platform Roblox.

History

Tower Battles was created on August 19th 2017 by game developer Planet3arth on Roblox. It was inspired by Bloons Tower Defense. It quickly became the most popular tower defense game on the platform. Tower Battles inspired countless other td games on Roblox such as Tower Defense Simulator (TDS), Tower Defense X (TDX), Tower Blitz and many more. Tower Battles is mostly known for it's PvP gamemode, which is still very unique. After an update realesed on October 28th 2023 game lost it's support, but there are rumors circuling around about new game content potentially beign added.

Gameplay

Game consists of two main gamemodes: survival and versus.

Survival

The goal of survival is for player(s) in groups of 1-4 to survive against waves of enemies trying to reach highest possible wave by placing titular towers. Survival mode consists of 40 diffrent waves of various enemies. On wave 40 players encounter a final boss of the game called Void. After defeating Void game ends and players are awarded 150 credits (in game currency).

Versus

In versus mode two groups of players, ranging from 1 to 4 in each team, are trying to survive longer than their opponents by placing better defense, more capable of defending big amounts of enemies. There is also a sending mechanic which allow players to send more enemies to their opponent, increasing their chance of winning. Waves in versus mode consists of the same opponents as the one in survival but after both teams defeat Void game doesn't end but instead enemies called Endbringers appear. They're spawning infinetly until one of the teams loses. Team that won recives 125 credits and a win, meanwhile team that lost recives 10 credits and a loss.

Before creating Tower Battles Planet3arth created a game called Find The Domos.

There're 24 regular towers and 18 event towers.

There're frequent Tower Battles tournaments organized by community on discord.

An award for winning a tournament is a tower called Huntsman.

Player with the highest known amount of wins is woodhelvin.

Player people often call the best player is fast_twenty.
