Valeriu Iftime (born 31 May 1960) is a Romanian businessman, sports executive, and politician affiliated with The National Liberal Party (PNL)^[1] He is widely recognized for his contributions to regional development, energy efficiency, and football management, particularly through his ownership at FC Botoșani and Elsaco.

Business Career

He is the owner of FC Botoșani^[2] a soccer club competing in Romania’s top division. His involvement in sports has made him a well-known figure in Romanian football, ^[3] with FC Botoșani consistently competing in Liga I and securing sponsorships through his business network.^[4] Despite financial challenges, Iftime has ensured the club remains competitive, investing in player development and infrastructure.^[5][6]

Valeriu Iftime is also the Owner and President of Elsaco^[7], a company specializing in energy efficiency solutions, automation, and IT&C services. Under his leadership, Elsaco has contributed significantly to Romania’s infrastructure and technological development, securing contracts for major energy projects, including the rehabilitation of Bucharest’s heating network^[8]. His business ventures have earned him recognition as one of the most influential entrepreneurs in the country, with an estimated fortune exceeding 100 million euros.^[9]

Political Career

In 2024, Iftime entered politics and was elected President of the Botoșani County Council^[10]
