Visslan is a Swedish Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider of whistleblowing systems founded in Malmö in 2021 by Daniel Vaknine and Måns Skogman.[1][2] It provides an online channel for whistleblowing and case handling aimed at compliance with European and national whistleblower-protection rules. A Swedish business media, Dagens Industri, has covered the company’s work with the Swedish implementation of the EU Whistleblowing Directive and noted that its customers include, among others, the Royal Court of Sweden.[3]

History

edit

Visslan was established in early 2021 and took part in university and regional incubator programmes linked to Malmö and Lund.[4][5]

In June 2025 Visslan was acquired by Whistleblowing Solutions AB, the company behind the Whistlelink platform.[6][7] Startup media described the combined business as the largest providers of whistleblowing tools in Sweden.[8]

Operations

edit

Reporting is handled through a web-based software that includes the possibility of anonymous two-way communication between a whistleblower and case handlers. In an interview with Dagens Industri, Visslan’s founder Daniel Vaknine stated that the system avoids IP tracking and cookies and issues a code for following a case as a whistleblower without revealing ones identity.[9]

External recipient

edit

Several organisations using Visslan state in their public whistleblowing policies that reports are initially received by an external law firm before being transferred to the company for further handling. Examples include Boxon and PowerCell Group, which name the law firms Lindahl and VICI respectively in connection with their Visslan channels.[10][11]

Coverage

edit

Apart from Dagens Industri and Impact Loop’s reporting on the 2025 acquisition, the company and its founders have been profiled by regional entrepreneurship organisations and startup media connected to Malmö/Lund.[12][13]
