Draft:Year 8 QDU Competition

The QDU is the main debating association in Queensland [1] and offers a competition for grades 7, 8, 9 ,10, 11, 12, and 13, also called Senior A. In 2025, the Year 8 competition saw 156 teams from all across South East Queensland compete in 4 round robin matches, and then the teams who won 3 or more advanced to the finals rounds.[2] In 2025, 56 teams qualified for the finals rounds, which follow a elimination format. There are 64 spots, which meant that 8 teams received a bye.
