• In February 1942 the US loaned the British timber floating drydock, Triumph, it was towed from New York to Freetown by two tugs. Trinidad base had two timber floating drydocks, a 3000-ton capacity and a 1000-ton capacity. Were US Navy timber floating drydocks given classes? • Found: Timber floating dry docks were built also for World War 2. These Timber floating dry docks had a lift capacity from 400 to 20,000 tons. These were not towed across the open ocean and were not given a US Navy class. Telecine Guy (talk) 03:43, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
